Llama 2 is here to compete with OpenAI’s ChatGPT. The newest version of Meta’s large language model is entering the generative artificial intelligence space with intentions to outcompete other major AI models like ChatGPT. One of the reasons Llama 2 has so much potential is because it’s open-source—meaning it’s free for research and commercial use—which its competitors don’t offer, giving them a huge advantage amongst businesses, researchers, etc. Llama 2 is also partnering with Microsoft’s cloud computing platform Azure, giving the tech another leg up as it integrates into the system. YPulse’s AI research shows that ChatGPT is one of the top thinks young consumers think of when they hear “AI,” so it will likely be hard to compete with it’s name recognition alone. (Mashable)
