TikTok creators can now get paid a different way on the platform. Before the implementation of TikTok’s “Series,” the app’s newest way to pay its creators, there was the Creator Fund. Influencers were only earning between $0.02 and $0.04 per 1K views and having to find other outlets to earn an income as a result. But, “Series” adds to the app, which is an exclusive tab on each creators’ page where they can post content for their followers, priced anywhere from $0.99 to $189.00. The platform’s recent addition allows TikTokers to take back financial power by setting their own income. According to the app, “for a ‘limited time’ creators will receive 100 percent of the money after platform and processing fees.” YPulse’s New Content Creators trend report shows that most social media users are creating content online for a broader audience beyond their friends and family—and they want to be paid accordingly.
