Sesame Workshop is teaming up with Mayo Clinic Press Kids and Headspace to roll out mental health content for kids. First, Sesame launched a short film called Elmo’s Mindfulness Spectacular on YouTube that centers around “Elmo learning techniques to cope with his big feelings as he embarks on a ‘mindfulness’ journey with Abby.” Sesame will also be launching a series of emotional well-being books set to come out fall 2024 in a deal with Mayo Clinic Press Kids. Each book is designed to “teach young readers how to care for both body and mind, with tips about dealing with anxiety.” Since audio is also playing a huge roll in the campaign, Sesame is releasing a four-episode podcast in partnership with Dr. Laurie Santos, host of “The Happiness Lab” as well as a second season of its “Goodnight, World!” podcast with Headspace that will focus on helping kids with bedtime and naptime routines. YPulse told you podcasts for kids have been booming since last year, and our State of Mind trend research found that since the pandemic, 86% of Millennial parents want their kids to learn about mindfulness and meditation.
