BeReal is looking to “be relevant” again and draw users back to the viral platform. YPulse told you how BeReal peaked for Gen Z back in November of 2022, but the app has been on a decline ever since. However, it’s making moves to reel (pun intended) users back in with RealPeople, a new feature the app is calling “a curated timeline of the most interesting people” to users in the U.K. and says it will be available globally soon. RealPeople will essentially be a mix of people users know and don’t and aims to highlight anti-influencer culture: “it’s an attempt to show that public figures are real and boring too.” The app also recently launched “Bonus BeReal” which allows users to make two additional posts throughout the day (but only if their first post was made during the allotted two-minute window), encouraging users to visit the app more than once a day.
