Despite the widely acknowledged housing crash, real estate content on TikTok is booming. The hashtag #Property has over 3.6M views on the platform and a growing number of real estate agents are using the Gen Z-loved app to post home tours for available properties and apartments to rent—especially in response to viral videos of young adults claiming they’re desperately looking for a place to live. These agents are seeing additional viewings on their listings on both TikTok and Instagram—and it’s helping them sell properties within a matter of weeks. To capture young audiences, real estate agents are filming these videos to fit in with Gen Z and Millennials’ feeds, with apartment / house listings filmed vertically (native to the app) and often at a faster speed than traditional property videos, with small bits of text as overlays.
