Millennial parents are making “mindful toys” a top trend. According to The Toy Association, 79% of parents believe that play is an important form of self-care for children, and 77% used toys to help with social-emotional learning during the pandemic. Their interest in toys that support kids’ well-being and mental health is sparking the industry to create products that “teach kids things like mindfulness, sleeping routines and trying new things.” Recent examples include Tonies’ interactive audio players, Hapes’ wooden toys, and LEGO building sets. YPulse’s Playtime trend data found that 75% of Millennial parents prefer toys that are educational to toys that are purely fun. (Kidscreen)
