Spotify’s Stream On conference announced a ton of new updates—including an artificial intelligence powered DJ. Spotify is looking to be young consumers’ go-to listening platform for all things music, podcasts, and recently audiobooks. The first update, announced by singer Chlöe Bailey at the brand’s recent event, is “Spotify Clips” a new service allowing “musicians to add 30-second videos to their profiles” where they can share behind-the-scenes info about their music or promote a new album. The platform is also going to start rolling out autoplay for podcasts (meaning the next episode in a series will automatically play when one is finished), searchable hashtags like #R&B in the app, and “Previews” where users can see “audio and visual previews when they scroll down.” Lastly, a new AI DJ “will deliver a curated lineup of music alongside commentary around the tracks and artists we think you’ll like in a stunningly realistic voice.” (UPROXX)
