Now, the latest trend is allegedly “conscious quitting,” where employees are deciding to change jobs because they don’t share the same values with the company they work for. According to a U.K. study, nearly half of British 18-24-year-olds (49%) would consider taking a pay cut to work for a company that aligns with their personal values. Over in North America, YPulse’s Employment and Career report data shows that 57% of young workers would rather have a career where they’re very passionate about the work, but do not earn a lot of money over a career where they’re earning more but are not passionate about the job.
