PepsiCo’s new soda is aiming to be a Gen Z go-to by appealing to the gen’s aesthetics. The brand’s new lemon-lime soda Starry is claiming to be the better SierraMist, with its Gen Z yellow and bright green coloring and bold font. PepsiCo noticed a significant growth in the demand for lemon-lime flavored soda since 2019 and wants to give young consumers another option that simply “hits different.” But while establishing a strong brand image is important to reach young consumers these days, being creatively entertaining and reaching them through social media is the most surefire way to secure the entirety of Gen Z.
