Scotland and Spain passed a bill to allow people to self-declare their gender without medical certification. People aged 16 and above will be able to change their legal gender by simply filling out a form, and sending it to their government, with no need to provide medical evidence or get approval from a psychiatrist. This self-determination bill aims at making the process of changing gender more transparent, and straightforward, and is seen by many LGBTQ+ activists as an important step towards creating a more inclusive society.
