A new trade show program is making plans to support BIPOC-led brands. Supported by Informa Markets’ New Hope Network and the Specialty Food Association, the program is set to run a sponsored trade show exhibition and mentorship opportunities for diverse brands. Two eight-week cohorts will be held, one this March in California and another June in NYC. Applications for BIPOC brands began this month and will be running through February. Specialty Food Association says they are “dedicated to creating a more inclusive specialty food community of members.” YPulse’s The End of Foodie Culture (As We Know It) trend report data shows that BIPOC Gen Z and Millennials overall have a stronger relationship to food and foodie culture.
