Issa Rae’s media company Hoorae is working with Walmart to support Black creators. YPulse’s Celebrities and Influencers report data shows that 54% of BIPOC youth agree: “I would like to be an online celebrity” and Rae is giving them the chance to become one. Through the Black & Unlimited Digital Development Program, Black creators will be paired with industry professionals and Walmart will be featuring members on the company’s Black & Unlimited YouTube channel. The nine future influencers “will receive equipment as well as $10,000 stipends” and includes Amanda S. Wicks or “Marketing Shawty,” foodie Alex Hill, and Brelynn Hunt, “who brings ‘Brains and Beauty’ to her YouTube channel.” (Tubefilter)
