Zara is jumping into the resale economy boom with the creation of a resale feature. The Spanish fast fashion giant recently launched “Zara Pre-Owned” on its website and mobile app, and while the feature is currently only available to consumers in the U.K., it is planned to roll out in more countries in the continent soon. Shoppers can use Zara Pre-Owned to find pre-loved items, and get their favorite Zara clothes repaired, from broken zips to missing buttons. This move allows Zara to tap into the growing resale economy—expected to grow 15-20% in the next five years—while being true to its “commitment to circularity.” YPulse’s data WE Fashion Preferences and Style Report shows that half of young Europeans like to shop for vintage / secondhand clothing.
