Chris Rock is gearing up to perform Netflix’s first ever livestream event. Set to stream in early 2023, Netflix’s kicking off their livestream era with Rock who is considered “one of the most iconic and important comedic voices of our generation.” Many of his fans have been hounding him about the controversial Oscar’s slap with Will Smith and he’s responded with, “I’m not going to talk about it right now. I’ll get to it eventually, on Netflix,” so fans will be sure to tune in to the livestream. YPulse’s Media Consumption report shows that BIPOC young people are watching comedy above any other genre and the majority (80%) agree that streaming services are more inclusive and diverse than cable—and even social media.
