Netflix’s Triviaverse is proving the gamification of entertainment is hitting big. Even though the service’s mobile games may not have performed as well as they’d hoped, their new interactive trivia game is making its way into their top ten trending list. In the battle for attention, Netflix is pitted against TikTok and video games as Gen Z video consumption rates shift and YPulse’s Media Consumption survey shows that social media is rising above streaming services when it comes to where young people are watching content. In order to lock in users through gaming, Netflix’s Triviaverse has them testing their knowledge of various categories in a timed series of rapid-fire questions. (Mashable, TechCrunch)
