Gen Z’s Roblox avatars are inspiring their real-life fashion more than you may think. YPulse’s metaverse trend research shows that 67% of 13-39-year-olds who play virtual world games say seeing other avatars in branded clothing makes them want to wear that brand. Plus, a third of young consumers also tell us they think they’ll someday shop for clothes in virtual worlds that will be shipped to them in real life. Roblox recently conducted a survey in partnership with Parson’s School of Design (ahead of their course collab), and found that of 1K 14-24-year-olds, two in five “care more about expressing themselves through clothing and accessories in the digital world than the real world” and three quarters are willing to spend money on digital fashion. What may be most surprising is that 70% say they take inspiration from their avatars for their IRL fashion. (Business Insider)
