TikTok is helping movie theaters reach Gen Z. YPulse’s Experiences report data shows that 62% of Gen Z are comfortable returning to movie theaters post pandemic and now TikTok is making it even easier for them to do so. After seeing a trailer that catches our attention we often say, “Ooo I want to see that”—and now they can get closer to the theater almost instantly. The app is rolling out a new Showtimes feature that’s giving select studios the ability to feature full length trailers on users’ For You Pages and then provide details on local theaters and showtimes. Studios will also be able to link to a partner site where users can buy tickets directly. TikTok says that 52% of users “learn about a new show, movie or actor on the app, and a quarter of people who see an entertainment ad or trailer buy a ticket.” By adding the Showtimes feature, they’re helping to guide consumers from the feed to follow-through with buying tickets.
