National Geographic celebrated their new ocean-inspired lifestyle collection with a launch party in HypeBeast’s HBX NYC store. YPulse’s The Cause Conundrum trend report shows that young consumers expect brands to take action on sustainability (even when their own behaviors don’t always match their ideals) and Nat Geo is taking matters into their own hands with a new line of apparel. The launch party, decorated with aquatic sculptures and performances by Yaeji and Keith Charles, celebrated the conjoining of trendy fashion and sustainability Nat Geo style. Guests of the event were able to scan a QR code leading them to the non-profit’s information web page that let them know how “every purchase from the National Geographic lifestyle collection helps support the global nonprofit National Geographic Society in its work to protect and illuminate our world through exploration, research and education.” (HypeBeast)
