Sharing meals together lowers stress levels in families. A new survey from the American Heart Association shows 91% of parents say their family is less stressed when they eat meals together regularly. Because high stress levels increase risks of heart disease, the AHA is encouraging “Together Tuesdays™” which will suggest easy and budget-friendly meals every Tuesday through December, through social media and text updates. The survey also found that “67% of people say sharing a meal remind them of the importance of connecting with other people, and 54% say it reminds them to slow down and take a break.” YPulse data shows 66% of Millennial parents agree they constantly feel stressed, so spending more meal times with their family may be exactly what they need to slow down their busy lives.
