Irish budget airline EasyJet is shifting its eco-initiatives to be even more green.

Sep 28 2022

Irish budget airline EasyJet is shifting its eco-initiatives to be even more green. Once again, the aviation industry is buzzing thanks to the orange-and-white airline after announcing its transition to 100% green flights. The prospect will please young Europeans, four in five of whom agree that ‘climate change is an immediate threat to human life. The company already made the headlines three years ago by becoming the first airline to operate at net-zero carbon on all its flights. But instead of buying out its carbon impact by planting trees and rewilding—which is great but doesn’t solve the core issue—the company will have flights that don’t pollute at all (thanks hydrogen, bye kerosene!). Young Europeans are avid travelers, with 91% saying they are interested in taking trips and traveling to different destinations (check out YPulse WE Travel Report for more). But for some, this jet-setting goes against their eco-consciousness. Now that flights can become as green as a Tesla, it might help solve young Europeans’ travel conundrum. (Bloomberg)
