The audio “kids do not need fancy to have fun” is trending among Millennial parents on Reels and TikTok.

Sep 16 2022

The audio “kids do not need fancy to have fun” is trending among Millennial parents on Reels and TikTok. Momfluencers and famous internet families are fun to watch, but their extravagant lifestyles and picture-perfect family fun can make many parents feel that they’re not doing enough for their kids. In reality, that’s not the case for small children and the trending audio is reminding parents that their kids don’t need the latest and greatest in order to be considered good parents. Originally posted by @BusyToddler on Instagram, the audio sums up the fact that kids frankly don’t care whether or not a toy is expensive or if their outfits match their mom’s Instagram aesthetic, they can have fun without their material things being fancy. The thousands of Reels and TikToks under this audio include footage of children playing in piles of dirt, dancing in the rain, and playing in cardboard boxes all with smiles on their faces. YPulse’s Personal Finances and Services report data shows that taking care of their family is Millennial parents’ top financial goal right now—and this audio reminds them they don’t have to splurge on their kids to do so.
