Millennial moms are hiding Amazon packages from their husbands on TikTok—but the trend is problematic.

Millennial moms are hiding Amazon packages from their husbands on TikTok—but the trend is problematic. Videos of moms telling their Amazon delivery person to strategically hide their packages so their husbands don’t see has been trending on TikTok, and while they are funny and relatable, those who do it out of fear that their partner will be angered are promoting toxic relationship dynamics to young viewers. According to a CivicScience survey, “70% of women say they make all or most of the household/children’s purchases for their home, while just 38% of men say they do.” And while Millennial moms are busy managing their households as well as working (increasingly multiple jobs), some users are outwardly against the trend saying these moms shouldn’t feel guilty for their purchases or live in fear of their partner’s judgment. Ultimately, online shopping makes everyone’s lives easier; YPulse’s Shopping and Retail report data shows about half (47%) of Millennial moms say they shop on an online marketplace like Amazon regularly.
