Apple’s recent update has a new feature letting users go passwordless.

Sep 15 2022

Apple’s recent update has a new feature letting users go passwordless. This week the tech giant rolled out their iOS 16 update, which introduced Apple Passkey, a way for iPhone users to “use their Apple devices to log in to websites and services without any passwords.” YPulse’s The Privacy Issue trend research shows that 84% of Gen Z and Millennials are worried about their personal information being hacked or stolen. Passkeys (stored and connected by Keys) are mainly intended to minimize the risk of account hacks since they have the possibility of being stolen and leaked. Ultimately, authentication like Face ID, finger prints, or a pin number can be used in place of a standard username and password, and Passkeys can determine if someone is the original owner of their device or not.
