Over two thirds of young adults who moved back in with their parents over the pandemic are still there. Amid pandemic uncertainty, many Gen Z and Millennials moved back home with their parents—and two years later the majority haven’t moved out. According to a LendingTree report, “67% of [M]illennials and Gen Zers who moved home are still there.” While the top reason they moved back in with their parents was to save money, student loans and soaring rent rates are what’s holding them back the most. YPulse research shows that 65% of young adults say their life plans were disrupted by the pandemic and their top three financial goals right now are to 1. save money, 2. increase income, and 3. create financial stability.
