Facebook Marketplace and Doordash are teaming up for local deliveries. Doordash drivers are making deliveries for items consumers are purchasing through Facebook Marketplace in a push to get younger people to use Facebook. For Doordash, this is a push for the company to deliver items beyond food. For example, Doordash is promising to deliver any items that can fit in a trunk, up to 15 miles away, and guarantee arrival within 48 hours. Although Gen Z is over Facebook, the platform’s Marketplace is one of the only features they use, and because Doordash sales surged over the pandemic, they want to dabble with more than groceries. YPulse’s Social Media Monitor report data shows 23% of Gen Z utilize Facebook Marketplace. (WSJ)
