Gen Z is set on reworking workplace norms—and now they want their paychecks daily. YPulse’s employment and career research shows Gen Z wants to dress more casually at work, have more of a work-life balance, and have flexible schedules, but they’re not done yet. According to the Center for Generational Kinetics, the gen is proposing immediate access to their wages. In fact, 61% of Gen Z “would like their employer to provide the option for a daily wage payment.” In times where living paycheck to paycheck is common, it makes sense for young workers to find themselves needing their pay sooner than a bi-weekly basis, especially considering the gen was arguably hit hardest by pandemic-related financial issues and are most subject to entry-level salaries. Gen Z has been living in an “on demand” world, already sending and receiving money instantaneously via Cash App and Venmo. (Fortune)
