Young consumers are eating up wellness trends, and now a new piece of jewelry is helping them monitor their metabolisms. Fitness startup Ultrahuman is launching a smart ring they are claiming has the ability to give wearers “ultrahuman power.” The ring has an embedded fitness tracker that will give consumers insight into their metabolism through data collected based on their sleep and overall movement. The ring is “made from ‘fighter jet’ titanium and features a tungsten carbide coating for extra durability” and includes a “PPG heart rate sensor, temperature sensor, and motion sensor.” An Ultrahuman app will accompany the jewelry since there is no screen; there users will be able to view their metrics and monitor the battery level which will need to be charged every four to six days. YPulse’s health and fitness research shows that tracking fitness is a wellness trend Gen Z and Millennials are interested in and 24% say they use a wearable device to do so. (The Verge)
