Gen Z and Millennials fueled Instagram “baddie” plastic surgery trends—but now they want them reversed.

Gen Z and Millennials fueled Instagram “baddie” plastic surgery trends—but now they want them reversed. YPulse research shows 63% of young women wish they could look the way social media photo filters make them look in real life. Young women have been especially influenced and made to feel bad about their bodies on social platforms, leading to an increase in plastic surgery requests among young adults. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian and Bella Hadid inspired the BBL and fox eye trends that took Instagram by storm the last several years. Those who wanted lifted feline-like eyes beyond social media filters underwent pretty intense surgeries, but TikTokers are now revealing that even some of the non surgical options can still lead to bruising, scarring, and overall pain. One Millennial said of her nose surgery, “The Kardashian look is no longer the coolest look. Bumps and other things — which would previously be seen as something to get rid of — are now not just accepted but unique and being celebrated.” (Refinery29)
