NYX Professional Makeup is next to take the metaverse stage on The Sandbox, where they’re hosting a Pride celebration themed after the brand’s “Paint Your Own Story” campaign. Developed with People of Crypto Lab (POC), the event will include an array of NFT avatars with 36 varying skin tones embodying the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community. NYX plans to “donate 100% of the NFT proceeds to the Los Angeles LGBT Center up to a $50,000 total.” Diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives are attracting young gamers and YPulse research shows 68% of Gen Z and Millennials say they wish peoples’ avatars in virtual worlds were more realistic reflections of who they are in real life.
