Amazon opened its first brick-and-mortar clothing store in California using a ton of tech to fuel its operations.Amazon Style is an in-person fashion boutique meets ecommerce haven, with an app and touchscreens that let customers request new sizes from the dressing room and rate things, as well as QR codes on clothes and accessories that shoppers can scan to reveal more details about items or have them taken to the register. This isn’t the retailer’s first IRL store, with cashier-less grocery stores Amazon Fresh and Go already in operation. YPulse’s fashion and style report shows that the majority of young consumers still prefer to shop for clothing in a physical store, and Amazon clearly wants to capture their spend no matter where they’re buying.
