Ilios, a new dating app, is pairing “celestial soul mates” by matching users based on their astrological signs.While there are a number of popular dating apps out there (namely Hinge, Bumble, and Tinder) that allow users to include their astrological signs in their profiles, they don’t showcase it as their primary feature. Ilios is changing that by making the Zodiac signs, lifestyle choices, and numerology compatibility scores their main method of matchmaking. A pop-up event for the app’s launch had college students commenting on astrological signs to stay clear from (Scorpio males) and several said while they don’t believe the app will find their perfect match, they will utilize it for convenient hook-ups. YPulse’s Religion and Spirituality Report data shows three in five Gen Z and Millennials have participated in a supernatural practice with horoscopes, astrology, and tarot cards being among the most popular. And as the popularity continues to grow, over half (59%) of 13-39-year-olds say that these practices are becoming mainstream, and TikTok creators are driving this—the hashtag #SpiritualTok currently has 1.6 billion views.
