Disney+ subscriber numbers are still growing. YPulse data shows that while Netflix is still the number one streaming service kids are utilizing for video content, Disney+ is right behind with 43% of Millennial parents saying their children watch the service weekly or more. In a few short years the platform has become an indispensable part of entertainment for many families—and they’re continuing to grow. Disney+ added approximately 8 million new subscribers in their most recent quarter, bringing them to a total of 138 million users globally. Pixar’s new Turning Red animated feature allowed the service to acquire surprisingly more subscribers than anticipated. Overall, streaming service providers have been ramping up their kids’ content in order to appeal to family viewership–but it’s not just families signing up: YPulse’s Media Consumption Monitor shows that 37% of 16-39-year-olds without kids watch Disney+ weekly as well.
