YouTube is partnering with the TV and film industry for a series of live events. YPulse’s media consumption report found that YouTube is a top platform that young people watch content on. Recently, the platform partnered with the TV and film industry to reach their audiences. This week, YouTube collaborated with influencer Jackie Aina and makeup artist Pat McGrath for a livestream shopping event featuring products from Netflix’s Bridgerton, including the exclusive line of makeup McGrath created in collaboration with the hit show. The event is being dubbed YouTube’s “first-ever live shopping experience in the film / TV space,” and viewers will be able to explore and purchase items via YouTube’s “abundance of ecommerce features.” Also happening this week: YouTube is partnering with Paramount to livestream the premiere of upcoming movie sequel Top Gun: Maverick, which fans will be able to view using the new Live Redirect feature. Once fans “arrive” at the virtual premiere, they will be able to access live coverage like behind-the-scenes footage led by creators like Ian Boggs, and see what stars like Tom Cruise and Miles Teller are up to on the red carpet.
