The majority of young people want student debt relief, but not all of them want it “totally canceled,” according to a poll. YPulse’s personal finance and services report found that one in five young consumers have student loans. According to a Harvard University poll, which surveyed 2,024 18-24-year-olds, 85% say they favor some form of government action on student loan debt, but only 38% favored total debt cancellation. According to the director of polling at Harvard Kennedy School’s Institute of Politics, many of the young people in their focus groups “really seem to care about fairness in finding solutions to student loan debt.” (USA Today)
