Gen Z and young Millennials are more likely to quit their jobs if their employer requires them to go back into the office.

Apr 26 2022

Gen Z and young Millennials are more likely to quit their jobs if their employer requires them to go back into the office. According to a recent report from ADP Research Institute that includes results from a November 2021 survey of over 32,000 workers in 17 countries, 71% of 18-24-year-olds say if their employer makes them return to the workplace full-time they would consider looking for another job, which is higher than any other age segment surveyed. Results were similar for 25-34-year-olds, with more than 60% saying the same, while workers 35-years-old and older are less likely to say they’ll look for another job if their employer makes them return to the workplace full-time. Young employees entered the workforce alongside the pandemic, and just like their older counterparts, they value the flexibility remote work has added to their lives. YPulse’s What’s Next for Work trend research shows hybrid work culture is what Gen Z and Millennials want long-term—and they want a say in when they’re expected to be in-office and not.
