Not Safe For Mom Group is an online Facebook group where Millennial moms and parents can vent and “be real.” YPulse’s Clicking on Community trend research found that a third of Millennial parents find their sense of community on social media, while the majority are part of an online group on Facebook. And in 2018, after getting sick of perfectly curated Instagram feeds, filtered momfluencers, and online parenting groups that made her feel worse about parenting, Alexis Barad-Cutler started the Not Safe for Mom Group (nsfmg) on Facebook as an unfiltered space for parents to vent, curse, and share their honest thoughts and feelings. Users can have online discussions with others, and have the choice to remain anonymous when posting. Currently, the group has over 29K members and the Not Safe For Mom Group Podcast that launched this year has accumulated over 1K downloads. When it’s safer, the group wants to provide local in-person gatherings and expand to “local chapters.” (TODAY)
