Talkspace-owned Lasting launched a new parenting app to help Millennial parents raise their children. Parenting Guide from Lasting is a new app designed to help parents become “more confident” in their approach to raising “healthy and resilient children.” It offers over 100 self-guided sessions, live therapist-led classes, and tools that teach parents how to regulate their kids’ emotions. Some of the topics covered include secure attachment, self-awareness, discipline, anxiety in kids, whining and complaining, getting kids to listen, strong-willed children, and sibling relationships. It also has more than 30 mental health prompts which allow parents to practice self-care and emotional regulation. There’s a section that lets parents record their thoughts, and a feature for partners, including a collaboration Q&A that encourages discussion around parenting approaches including how to work out conflict. According to Lasting, the parenting program was completed by more than 4,000 families while it was in beta testing mode, and 79% of them reported that the app helped them parent more effectively. YPulse’s Millennial Parenting research found that 42% of Millennial parents go online for parenting advice—and Lasting’s is one to add to the new slate of apps emerging to help them out. (TechCrunch)
