Gucci’s Vault, Rent the Runway, and secondhand stores are making luxury more attainable for Gen Z and Millennials.

Mar 30 2022

Gucci’s Vault, Rent the Runway, and secondhand stores are making luxury more attainable for Gen Z and Millennials. Though fast fashion brands like Shein and H&M are still wildly popular among young consumers for their quick-to-produce trendy styles, these gens are also becoming more mindful of sustainability in their fashion choices as they opt for high-quality styles to lengthen the lifespan of their closet. When they’re not thrifting vintage luxury or shopping at secondhand stores, Gucci Vault and Rent the Runway are popular options for attaining luxury pieces at a fraction of the price. Gucci’s ecommerce shop, Vault, provides shoppers with a curated, online shopping experience, offering them the option to “buy now, pay later” via Affirm so they can try the styles they want without cost being a major obstacle. Meanwhile, Rent the Runway lets users rent designer apparel and accessories and test a variety of pieces. Our luxury research shows 41% of young females and 24% of young males are interested in shopping for secondhand luxury items. (Adweek)
