Speaking of secondhand, ThredUp wants to combat fast fashion during music festival season by curating ‘fits for concert-goers.

Speaking of secondhand, ThredUp wants to combat fast fashion during music festival season by curating ‘fits for concert-goers. Music festival season kicks off at Coachella next month, and ThredUp is on a mission to solve the “underutilization” of clothing with curated head-to-toe outfits sourced from its platform—and the closet of resident celebrity stylist, Karla Welch. Consumers will have the chance to shop for trendy, high-quality pieces ranging from $14 to $225 (think bucket hats, skin-baring clothes, crop tops, mini skirts, ripped and loose denim, accessories with pops of neon, and more). Welch is also contributing more than 30 items from her celebrity styling closet to the project. The project is inspired by a survey of 2,000 U.S. adults that found one-quarter will attend some sort of music concert this year, and 42% plan to splurge on something new to wear. YPulse’s sustainability survey found that 49% of Gen Z and 47% of Millennials have purchased secondhand clothing / accessories. (Sourcing Journal)
