French luxury fashion house LVMH created a “virtual ambassador.”

Mar 30 2022

French luxury fashion house LVMH created a “virtual ambassador.” While LVMH’s CEO previously said they’re taking a “cautious approach to the metaverse,” the brand has been exploring ways to break into the digital realm—and their new ambassador may be the first step. The unnamed female avatar will reportedly deliver a speech about LVMH’s innovation, tech, and digital-focused future plans at the next edition of the Viva Technology conference in June. While digital influencers have been around for years, the recent hype around the metaverse is spurring many brands to create computer-generated representatives of their own. Our recent Metaverse trend research found that the majority of Gen Z and Millennials are already in the metaverse—even if they’re not calling it that—and they’re interested in brands interacting with them in these digital spaces. What’s more, over one-quarter are interested in following a digital influencer on social media. (Yahoo!)
