Barbie hosted her first (dream) livestream aimed at celebrating Women’s History Month. Mattel teamed up with Talkshoplive last week on a Barbie-hosted livestream shopping experience that “[paid] homage to Women’s History Month.” The show featured Barbie’s Inspiring Women Series, which features female icons including Maya Angelou, Ida B. Wells, Helen Keller, Rosa Parks, and Eleanor Roosevelt, and Barbie’s Career Dolls. Walmart served as the presenting sponsor and fulfilled viewers’ orders. Talkshoplive is becoming a helpful resource for livestream shopping experiences as it “removes the friction in path-to-purchase with a system that is embeddable on almost any site.” YPulse’s shopping and retail research shows 73% of Millennial parents are interested in livestream shopping.
