Next Admit is a college application advising business helping prospective students navigate the admissions process. Created by Gohar Khan, a 2021 MIT graduate, Next Admit offers peer-to-peer consulting to prospective college students, from consultation calls with current or former students at the colleges / universities they’re applying to, writing sessions, and reviews of essays and applications. The company has worked with around 2,000 students and families one-on-one to date, and the goal of Next Admit’s services is setting high school students up for success (especially when applying to ivy league schools) while encouraging them to be vulnerable throughout the process. Outside of Next Admit, Khan has built a TikTok following of 1.6M where he creates “table-top” style clips educating viewers on admissions—like how to stay on track with the process, study techniques, how to ace college essays, and more. YPulse’s Self-Taught trend research shows 45% of Gen Z say TikTok has helped them learn something new, and resources like Khan’s TikTok channel and Next Admit business are providing them relatable advice on the platform they frequent.
