Brands are showing up for International Women’s Day with inclusive campaigns, donations, and more. Today (March 8) marks International Women’s Day, and brands from Instacart, Gymshark, and Hershey’s are amplifying women’s achievements through a variety of initiatives. Instacart has allocated $1 million to support women-owned food and beverage brands advertising on its site and app, partnering with three women-led brands (including Sweet Loren’s, Three Wishes Cereal, and TWRL Milk Tea) to kick off the effort. Gymshark launched a “We, the Changemakers” campaign spotlighting people and groups working to break down barriers for women in gym environments / athletics. Lastly, Hershey’s highlighted the word “she” in its logo on limited edition chocolate bar packaging, and the brand is running a #HerSHE social media campaign calling on users to share photos of the women heroes in their lives. Gender equality / sexism has risen on the list of issues Gen Z and Millennials care about, and these gens pay close attention to brands that authentically uplift the issues they care about in their marketing and charitable efforts.
