As Gen Z ages up into the online dating world, Bumble has acquired French dating app Fruitz, which has a strong Gen Z user base and “encourages open and honest communication of dating intentions.” Users communicate through four different fruit metaphors, offering a fresh approach to dating for swipe-averse young people. YPulse’s WE dating and relationships research found that almost half of young Europeans have dated someone they’ve met through a dating app, and 24% have met their romantic partner via a dating app or site.
