Coca-Cola and Molson Coors are teaming up on a line of alcoholic drinks tied to the Simply brand. Simply Spiked Lemonade is a new ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktail brand heading to store shelves this summer—Coca-Cola’s third alcohol brand to join its portfolio alongside Topo Chico Hard Seltzer and Fresca canned cocktails. The drink will be sold in 12-can variety packs in flavors like strawberry lemonade, watermelon lemonade, blueberry lemonade, and signature lemonade, with some flavors available in a 24-oz stand-alone can. The competition to release a new, buzzy hard seltzer / RTD cocktail has been heating up since last summer, forcing some brands to bow out due to consumers having too many options to choose from (RIP Coors Seltzer). YPulse’s nightlife and drinking data shows quality of taste and interesting flavors are some of the leading factors 21+ young consumers who drink alcohol look for when shopping for booze, and the spiked Simply line is coming for their taste buds in the ever growing market of RTD cocktails.
