Young Europeans want a more sustainable food system. A recent survey from Europe’s leading food innovation initiative, EIT Foods, found that 78% of 18-24-year-olds in the U.K., France, Germany, Poland, and Spain believe that food production needs to be more sustainable, and 66% agree that food consumption and production trends are “destroying the planet, and that the situation is only getting worse.” YPulse research shows that climate change is a high priority for young consumers, and in the U.S., climate anxiety is impacting the purchases they make and brands they support. Meanwhile, trends such as plant-based food and zero-waste restaurants are growing due to the influence of Gen Z and Millennials’ eco-consciousness. (Green Queen)
