Gen Z and Millennials would take a pay cut if it meant moving somewhere more affordable.

Dec 16 2021

Gen Z and Millennials would take a pay cut if it meant moving somewhere more affordable. According to a Coldwell Banker survey of 2,000 adults in the U.S., half of respondents 18-34-years-old say they would accept reduced pay or a new job with a lower salary to move to a location with a lower cost of living. Among this age group, men were the most interested in relocating to Miami, while women were most interested in moving to Austin (two cities that have become more popular as people move out of major cities like NYC, L.A., and San Francisco). YPulse’s Life Plans Rewritten trend research explores how the pandemic has caused young people to reassess their life goals, and moving out of concentrated cities and changing career paths is one way they’re making changes.
