Amazon is taking steps to help Millennial parents and moms in the workplace. YPulse’s What’s Next For Work research found that the pandemic exacerbated a serious gender gap in the workplace, with Millennial females, and especially Millennial moms, not seeing the job recovery that Millennial males are experiencing. According to Amazon’s VP of workforce development, “‘We know that the pandemic has had a tremendously disparate impact on women in the workplace,’” and the company, reportedly the “the second-largest employer in the U.S.,” is establishing new programs to help. Amazon FamilyFlex will allow more flexible scheduling to allow employees leeway for things like doctor’s appointments and children’s sick days. Their goal is to help keep moms in the workplace, as well as “reaching out” to all those who have had to step out and need more flexibility to return. (CBS)
