British beauty brand The Unseen is launching a line of “dual-reality” eyeshadows. Called Spectra, the eyeshadows come in two colors—black and light gray—that appear normal under natural light. But when a camera flashes, the colors turn into a bright, reflective silver, creating an effect young consumers can share only on social media. YPulse’s recent personal care and beauty shopping survey found beauty and makeup routines have only grown more important during the pandemic as young consumers make it part of their self-care. Beauty brands have also been adding digital elements to their offerings for a while now, and Spectra’s integration of the physical and digital worlds takes this trend to the next level. (Dazed)
