U.K. health and beauty retailer Boots released its first Christmas ad in two years. After opting out of producing a Christmas spot during the height of the pandemic, Boots’ star-studded 2021 ad features Doctor Who and Victoria actress Jenna Coleman, along with voice-over by fellow Doctor Who star Billie Piper. In addition to the ad, Boots is offering an extended Black Friday sale, which will take place throughout November and slash the prices of 14,000 products. The retailer is also integrating a shoppable TV channel on social media. YPulse’s WE holiday shopping research found that more than half of young Europeans want to start celebrating the holidays earlier than usual to have something positive to focus on, and nearly a quarter have already started their holiday shopping.
